In order to further improve the lines of communication and to respond to the concerns between the National VA Council and you our members, I have established a National VA Council Briefing. This NVAC Briefing will bring you the latest news and developments within DVA and provide you with the current status of issues this Council is currently addressing. I believe that this NVAC Briefing will greatly enhance the way in which we communicate and the way in which we share new information, keeping you better informed.
Alma L. Lee

Today is the second day of Contract
Negotiations in
We again discussed, Article 29, “Silent Monitoring” and VA has decided it should go to a third party. Although we decided at our last session in Long Beach, CA that we would do joint language on Article 29, “Silent Monitoring”, Ms. Bonnie Kerber who acted as the Chief Negotiator, decided NOT to do that.
We are now discussing Article 13, “Discipline and Adverse Action” and Management continues to play games on when and how employees should get representation.
Under Ms. Kerber’s leadership, as temporary Chief Negotiator, we expect to get absolutely nothing accomplished.
Kathleen Pachomski, Local President #3930, along with three other union representatives, were in attendance today. Much thanks to Kathleen and her Local for showing such great hospitality! They have been a great host!
More updates tomorrow!
