In order to further improve the lines of communication and to respond to the concerns between the National VA Council and you our members, I have established a National VA Council Briefing. This NVAC Briefing will bring you the latest news and developments within DVA and provide you with the current status of issues this Council is currently addressing. I believe that this NVAC Briefing will greatly enhance the way in which we communicate and the way in which we share new information, keeping you better informed.

In This Briefing:  From Oscar Williams 2nd Executive Vice President

National VA Council #53 on Mental Health Initiatives

VHA is going to send a letter to the field stopping the implementation on extended hours in Mental Health until after the bargaining obligations has been met.  This will only affect those VHA facilities that had not bargain locally on extended hours prior to the NVAC’s June 13th demand to bargain.   Some NVAC Locals had bargained locally on extend hours several years ago and those agreement will stay in effective.  Please make sure locals in your respective district receive this message, thanks.
